Tyler made Sloppy Joes. Real Sloppy Joes not Mamwich kind. We cleaned up dinner and went for a walk around our new neighborhood. It started off a little iffy because there is not a sidewalk in front of our house. We ended up headed in the opposite direction in the bike lane for a few blocks. We live about 9 blocks from the hub of Sylvan Park. A few cute restaurants and shops and especially my fav Cafe Nona. We ended up taking the ally back to our house. It was surprisingly better lit than the main road.

My goal tonight was to bust through a few boxes in the dining room and maybe put the bathroom stuff away. Well we busted through all the boxes on the floor in the dining room and all the bath plus some from that catch all supposed to be third bedroom.  After work I want nothing more that to just sit, but Nolan is in bed by 8 and the sooner these boxes are away then I can relax.

It is starting to look like we’ve lived here awhile. It will be a week today, and I’m starting to get used to it. I see the flaws but I’m seeing more positives than before. Compared to every other place we’ve lived it, it’s huge! We ate in the dining room. To think of a separate room for eating. Open concept living is great but it gets old. In the old place I longed for a place of refuge while Tyler watched TV shows that melted people. Now I have oh say 5 rooms to choose from.

I’m probably most excited about getting a treadmill this weekend. I’ve missed the gym and I don’t like running in the dark. With Nolan’s schedule and it getting dark earlier, working out has become a chore. I’m eager to bust a move after he goes to bed and then hop in the shower.

Being here and not hearing my neighbors or having squealing contests with Nolan and not worrying about bothering anyone has been fantastic. Sure I wish this place had new windows or at least all the windows opened and a better kitchen floor, but I like the feel of a house. It feels like we’ve made it. I know we are still renting, but to me that’s just how we pay for it. To us it feels like a home or well is starting to feel more like our home.
