Reliving the 20’s

We have been in the house almost two weeks and some things have come up that are taking some getting used to.

The electrical outlets require 3 prong adaptors. Most outlets are located in odd places like inside closets and on the baseboard.

Plaster is a look that I am not familiar with. The crumbles, peels, and roughness take some getting used too. It’s not dirty just old.

Creepy basements that probably started out as cellars. Sometimes I wonder if there is a nellar in my cellar?

Kitchens are for eating. It is not the center of the home. In fact it could have been added.

Dining rooms are for entertaining. Ours us huge with chair rail and a spot for sliding doors.

Closets don’t accommodate the modern American hanger or more than a few coats. I’m told that clothes may have been hung coming out towards you instead of horizontal.

The walls have radiators that just look decorative now.

I’m not saying I’m unhappy. I just find it fascinating how things have changed.
